Products Description

Overview
forede® water power oscillating device is a hydraulic mechanism installed between a fire monitor and its mounting flange. As water flows through the monitor during operation, part of the water pressure drives an internal gear or turbine mechanism that slowly rotates the monitor horizontally.
Instead of maintaining a fixed stream direction, the monitor automatically oscillates across a preset angle, ensuring wider and more uniform water or foam distribution without requiring manual operation or electrical controls.

FAQ
Q: Does this oscillating device need electricity to work?
No. The whole structure is fully water-driven. It only relies on the pressure of fire fighting medium (water/foam mixed liquid) to generate driving force. It can work normally under power failure, which is suitable for chemical tank farms, hangars and other unattended hazardous areas.
Q: What working pressure range does the device adapt to?
Standard working pressure: 3.5 bar ~ 10 bar (50 PSI ~ 145 PSI).
If the inlet pressure is lower than 3.5 bar, the swing torque will be insufficient and the swing speed will slow down or even stop swinging; pressure exceeding 10 bar will accelerate internal gear and seal wear and shorten service life.
Q: Can the swing angle be adjusted? What is the adjustable range?
Yes. Horizontal swing angle is adjustable on site via limit baffles. Common adjustable range: 0°–120°; customized full-circle 0°–350° swing is available for special projects. The pitching angle of the fire monitor itself is independent of this oscillating device and adjusted separately.
Q: How to adjust the swing speed?
Swing speed is controlled by a built-in flow regulating valve inside the oscillating device. Turn the adjusting screw to change the split flow impacting the turbine:
Small split flow → slow swing;
Large split flow → fast swing.
Speed can be locked after adjustment to keep stable scanning frequency.
