Products Description

Overview
forede® curtain nozzle is a specialized firefighting nozzle designed to create a continuous sheet of water - called a water curtain - which serves as a barrier against heat, flames, smoke, and radiant heat. It's widely used in fire protection systems, especially for openings, tanks, doors, and exterior building protection.
When water is supplied under pressure, the specially designed orifice and deflector plate shape the jet into a thin film or sheet. Multiple nozzles installed in a row form an unbroken curtain of water that blocks heat and flames.

FAQ
Q. What is the function of a curtain nozzle in a fire system?
Its main functions include:
Creating a protective water screen to prevent fire spread.
Cooling nearby structures or equipment.
Separating fire zones in industrial plants, tunnels, or storage areas.
Protecting personnel and escape routes.
Q. Where are curtain nozzles typically installed?
They are commonly installed:
Above doors or openings between fire compartments.
Around storage tanks (especially fuel tanks).
In tunnels, conveyor systems, and chemical plants.
Along walls or boundaries needing fire isolation.
Q. What materials are curtain nozzles made of?
Common materials include:
Brass (standard for indoor systems)
Stainless steel (for corrosive or outdoor environments)
Aluminum or bronze (optional, depending on system requirements.
Q. How does a curtain nozzle work?
When water flows through the nozzle under pressure, it discharges through a narrow slit or series of orifices, forming a flat water sheet. This sheet acts as a barrier or "curtain" to absorb radiant heat and block flames or smoke.
Q. What are typical operating pressures?
Operating pressure usually ranges from 2.0 to 7.0 bar (30–100 psi), depending on the design and desired curtain height or width.
