The difference between a water monitor and a foam monitor
Fire monitors can be used to disperse water or fire extinguishing foam and even dry chemical powders. Water monitors usually only disperse water, while foam monitors can be used to dispense foam and water. Monitors used for foam dispersing require special nozzles to induce foam concentrate, and breathable foam nozzles are required to aerate the foam solution.
Therefore, water and foam monitors are different in terms of nozzles installed on the body of the monitor, but their bodies are similar.
The monitor nozzle is the part where the induction and aeration of the foam (primary breathing foam) is performed. For this reason, the water monitor can be turned into a foam monitor by changing the nozzle to foam. It is important that the capacity of the foam nozzle matches the water nozzle capacity to achieve the required performance.
