What is the difference between a sprinkler system and a deluge system?
A sprinkler system and a deluge system are both used for fire protection, but they operate in distinct ways. A sprinkler system is a network of pipes fitted with sprinkler heads that release water when the heat from a fire triggers them. This system is designed to control and extinguish fires by distributing water directly over the flame.
In contrast, a deluge system is more aggressive. It operates by opening all sprinkler heads simultaneously when triggered, releasing a large volume of water quickly to drench the protected area.
