What Pressure Should a Fire Sprinkler System Be?

The pressure depends on factors like the type of sprinkler heads and the water source available. The pressure should also be such that it allows the sprinkler heads to function correctly, i.e., they should discharge water in a pattern that will effectively extinguish the fire.

 

A too low pressure can cause inadequate water flow, which will not effectively suppress the fire. A too high pressure can cause the sprinkler heads to break or malfunction, leading to an inefficient water distribution.

 

Furthermore, it is essential to maintain a consistent pressure throughout the system and ensure that there is enough water supply to meet the required pressure.
