Deluge valve setting requirements
1) The deluge valve group should be installed indoors where the ambient temperature is not lower than 4℃ and there are drainage facilities, and its location should be close to the protection object and easy to operate.
2) When the deluge valve assembly is installed outdoors, the deluge valve assembly accessories should have anti-corrosion function; the deluge valve assembly accessories installed in the explosion-proof area should meet the explosion-proof requirements.
3) The deluge valve group in cold areas should be insulated with electric heating or steam heating.
4) For the deluge valve group set in parallel, a check valve should be provided at the entrance of the deluge valve.
5) The pipeline in front of the deluge valve should be equipped with a flushable filter.
6) The test port of the deluge valve should be connected to reliable drainage facilities.
Air Operated Deluge Valve
Deluge valves are mostly used in automatic sprinkler systems. It is specifically used for pre-action automatic sprinkler systems in closed systems, automatic sprinkler-foam combined systems, and rain shower systems and water curtain systems in open systems.
The feature of the pre-action sprinkler system is that it can take into account both dry and wet sprinkler systems. The system uses the deluge valve to link with the alarm system. The nozzle is closed, and there is no water in the pipeline. Once the alarm is issued, it can be pre-filled with water, changing from a dry type to a wet type system. This kind of system has higher requirements, and the advantage is that there is no water in the pipeline at ordinary times, which can prevent accidental spraying or freezing and cracking, and is especially suitable for places where water is avoided.
The spray range of the deluge system is controlled by the deluge valve, and a large area of water is sprayed immediately after the system is started. It is suitable for special dangerous places where large area spraying water is required to quickly extinguish fires.
In addition, the deluge valve also plays a very important role as the system alarm control valve in the water spray fire extinguishing system.
