Overview

forede® Water powered oscillator is driven by the pressure of the fire-fighting water flow acting on an internal impeller or valve assembly, requiring neither a motor nor an external power supply. The water flow causes the valve element to periodically switch the flow path, generating a pressure differential that drives the entire unit to automatically sweep back and forth horizontally, covering the designated fire-protection zone.

Q: What is a water powered oscillator?
It is a fully hydraulic driving component for fixed fire water monitors. Driven only by inlet water pressure without motor, power cable or control circuit, it converts water flow energy into reciprocating horizontal swing force to realize automatic area sweeping of fire monitor.

Q: What's the difference between electric oscillator and water powered oscillator?
Water powered: No electricity, explosion-proof, low maintenance, suitable for flammable & explosive sites; swing speed adjusted by water flow.
Electric: Needs power supply, servo motor & control box; wider swing angle adjustment, applicable for ordinary factory buildings with stable power supply.

Q: What is the applicable working pressure range?
Standard working pressure: 0.35 MPa ~ 1.0 MPa (3.5 bar ~ 10 bar). It cannot work normally under pressure lower than 0.35 MPa; pressure over 1.0 MPa will accelerate internal part wear.

Q: What flow rate matches this oscillator?
Matched fire monitor flow: 600 L/min ~ 4800 L/min. Different oscillator models correspond to different flow grades. Customized versions for ultra-large flow storage tank monitors are available.

Q: What is the adjustable swing angle?
Standard horizontal swing range: 0° ~ 360° full circle adjustable. Limit baffles inside can lock the left/right swing boundary to cover designated protection zones only. Vertical pitching angle depends on the fire monitor body, not controlled by the oscillator.
