Once the valve is isolated, activate the test switch or button on the fire alarm control panel that corresponds to the deluge valve. This should send a signal to the valve, causing it to open.
Observe the valve closely to ensure that it opens fully and quickly. Listen for any unusual sounds or vibrations that could indicate a problem.
After the valve opens, check the sprinkler piping for any signs of water flow. If the system is properly functioning, water should flow freely through the piping and out of any open sprinkler heads.
