What is ar afff foam
AR-AFFF foam, which stands for Alcohol Resistant Aqueous Film-Forming Foam, is a specialized type of firefighting foam designed for specific fire-fighting challenges. It combines the characteristics of traditional AFFF (Aqueous Film-Forming Foam) with an added resistance to alcohol, making it highly effective in extinguishing fires involving fuels like gasoline, diesel, aviation fuel, and other alcohol-based liquids.
The primary function of AR-AFFF foam is to quickly form a stable foam blanket on the burning surface. This blanket not only excludes oxygen, cutting off the fire's supply of air, but also cools the fuel surface and prevents re-ignition. The alcohol resistance feature ensures that the foam maintains its integrity even in the presence of alcohol, which can otherwise disrupt the foam structure and reduce its effectiveness.
