Where are dry sprinklers used?
Dry sprinklers are commonly used in environments where the risk of freezing is high, such as unheated warehouses, cold storage facilities, and exterior applications. These systems are designed to prevent water from freezing in the pipes, which could render traditional wet sprinkler systems ineffective. Instead, dry sprinklers use compressed air or nitrogen to maintain pressure in the piping network until a fire is detected. Once a fire alarm is triggered, the compressed gas is released, allowing water to flow into the system and activate the sprinkler heads. This ensures that fire protection is available even in cold conditions, helping to safeguard property and lives.
